The final days, of happy days.

I have always took schooling days for granted.
For the past half a year or so, sr had been by second home.
Every morning, i try to reach school by 7.30 to make it in time for morning assembly, take the same bus, see the same usual people then run to school if i have to.
After the singing and reciting i listen to some announcements(either lame or funny) before going for lessons....
By noon, i would have lunch with either my classmates or my friends then return to lessons....
After lessons formally end for the day, i would proceed to find a spot in school to...u know study.
After their lessons end, my usual friends would come by and the group of us would...u know study tgt.
Complete tutorials, study for tests, disturb others, gossip, talk nonsense and so on...
Usually we would have dinner at the nearby coffeeshop.
Then at 8+, now 9+, the security guard would do his rounds and yeah chase us home.
A typical day like this repeats itself 5 days a week, weekly.

On saturday, i would go to school for sports in the morning, then have lunch, mug till 5pm and day ends.
After that, saturday night and sunday would be my holiday, no studying at all.
This was how i spent the past 6 months in my 3rd year in sr.
As boring as it may sound, its actually not.
When u have the heart to learn, mugging issint that painful actually.
Its very satisfying after u learn a new concept, solve a tough question, complete a tutorial or prelim paper.
At the end of the day, it all pays off when i am rewarded with the exam results i worked for.
Also, when u become a "good" student, teachers don't get on ur back anymore.
Instead, they become exceptionally nice somehow.
Teachers that used to pester and scold me over my laziness and poor performance for whole for last year changed their attitude towards me after seeing my change this year.
At the same time, i see their nicer side too.

Being on the other end of the CMI(cannot make it) list entails a great deal of laughs too.
It is especially amusing to watch how CMIs get into trouble with teachers or screw their student life up.
Its like watching a reflection of the old me.
Some may then say, so do u regret behavior last year?
Well, i do not.
Instead of viewing it as a regret, i treat it as a lesson learned.
Its just part and parcel of life, one falls, learns from it, then get back up on ur feet.
This lesson i learned has made life more "real", unlike in primary school and seconday school days where exams were like so easy, in jc i realised that i have to work for what i want.

Accepting school programs, believing that they are designed for the students at heart, having faith in the teachers, essentially behaving like a student has changed my perception of sr.
In the past, coming to school was very painful for me.
Failing exams on a regular basis, getting picked by teachers over and over again, being last in class and maybe in school too, who wouldn't dread school?
School was like a nightmare to me.
Who likes to go somewhere where one is a loser?
But, this year its different.
In fact, i am beginning to see the other side of sr, the good side.
And i am loving it.
Srjc is truly a great place.

Why am i saying all these?
Cos formal lessons had ended last friday.
And Pre-A level exams(aka fake exams) have almost ended too.
Graduation day is next friday and i cant believe its going to be over soon.
For once, i am actually enjoying jc life, behaving like a real student, i love going to school.
Meeting my friends, attending lessons, laughing at noobs, getting decent grades, playing sports, making new friends every now and then, life is so peaceful and happy.
Why is it ending so soon?
Its an irony issint it?
I have been working hard for A-levels, i came back with only the A-levels in mind.
Now, i actually do not want to take the A-levels.
Why?
Cos it marks the end of school.
Thank you SRJC, maybe thats all i can say.
Everything still has to come to an end.

Treasure the last few weeks i have, after As things will be different.
People are bounded to the school for a cause, which is A-levels, after the goal is achieved, the bind would cease to exist.
No point crying over something that inevitable, follow my heart and just move on.
Hmm, lets move on to a something jolly.

After like a few months of monotonous life, i finally went to catch a, no 2 movies last weekend.
First was Funny people, which was not funny at all.
It was draggy and dreading.
I felt that the M18 parts were unnecessary and the plot was kind of shallow.
Oh, and that was the 1st time i went to orchard in months.
Then on sunday, i went to watch Surrogate.
Ah, that was a better movie.
It gets one thinking and there were twists in the plot which makes it thrilling.
It was a great weekend for me, for i have not had so much fun for quite sometime.

But the week had to start by being a wet blanket.
For the whole of this week, i had pre-A level exams every single day.
We go to the exam venue, stimulate an exam, then go through the paper immediately after that.
Papers are not collected and thats why i called it fake exams.
Is so boring!
It started with gp being the first paper on moday, then post mortem, then physics paper 2 followed by post mortem again.
In the end, the day ended at 5pm or so.
It was so draining and ineffective.
I rather they just give me the answer for physics and i will go through it on my own.
Tuesday was H1 econs which was 3hours, i slept almost throughout the entire paper.
The post mortem? It was almost 3hours too.
I was late for school on tuesday, it was my 4th late record i think and the dm held all the jc2 latecomers back to have a bull talk.
I was especially pissed off as the dm was especially crappy.
He plays noobish mind games and his usage of the english language was atrocious.
How can someone who is trying to lecture, scold or discipline people use terms that actually show that he don't know what his is talking about.
How is coming late and losing focus in exam have any link?
And ya, spirit of not letting srjcians have lunch at the coffeeshop. Right, the spirit.
Full of bull, how can u exert authority or convince others when what u say don't make sense.
zzz.

Anyway, things started to pick up on wednesday and so on as it was at advert of the interesting papers.
Though interesting, the math, chem and phy papers were like so easy that it made it less fun.
I went to the school library on thursday to find a book on math cos it has something in it i wanted to copy.
Anyway, in addition on getting what i want (where were dozens of copies of the same book), i discovered a treasure trove.
Hahah, not exactly.
Its just that i was amazed by the sheer number of exceptional books the few shelves in the library could offer.
The books were not lame, they were seriously owning materials that would supplement one's learning greatly.
Anyway, i picked up 2 books from the physics section.
One talked about the theory of relativity and the other was about waves.
The one on relativity by stephen hawkings(the no.1 owning physicist of our era) blew be apart.
I was stunned by the absolute genius of Einstein and his theory of relativity.
I shall not go into detail here, for it would only put those who do not know much about physics asleep.
It got me to appreciate physics to a deeper level and even got me to question what i had learned.
What i read was physics of a higher level, that what people who do pure physics in uni or masters would learn.
The space-time concept, time cone, time dilation simply amazing.
Then about the book on waves, i flipped through it.
Majority of it could be found in my textbook, only the part on resonance caught my attention.
I finally understood what the true meaning of natural frequency, driving frequency and resonance was.
All along, we sort of memorised the term as what it was defined as in the textbook without actually understanding it, as it was not very important i would say.
But now, i am enlightened.
Hahaha.

I did not know sr library had such great stuff, i had always regarded the library as just another place for people to study and the bookshelves were just for show.
Wow, this actually changed my mind.
My third year in sr wasn't as bad as i had imagined.
Rather, it seemed like a blessing.
I got to discover so many wonders that i never knew existed in srjc.
I also got to make so many new and fabulous friends.
Its like a gift to let me have a chance experience the true jc life which had been shying away or blinding myself from in year 2.
Thanks for year 3, the stuff i went through in half a year was comparable to what i would go through in 2.

Hmm, its a public holiday today thus i am so free to blog.
Wanted to do so last week but was too tired to do so, cos i was busy having fun, haha.
Public holiday means, i can't go to school and i missed one sports day.
Hai.
Shall go and consider how i would spend the rest of my day, i wanna go out!
Thanks for reading.
Scott signs off.
