Last November, amidst struggling times, i saw my future, a really gloomy one.
I was overwhelmed by the battle and i predicted the disastrous outcome.
Looks like i got what i expected.
Yes i was referring to my A level results.
There was no pain, no anguish, no regrets.
As Mr Ang handed me my result slip and i took a glance at the innocent piece of paper, it felt really familiar.
The results where somewhat, or should i say, as i had expected.
As if i had painted this scene.
As i turned around and looked at the people around me,
i saw faces of sorrow, shocked faces.
I knew they had fallen,
but so had i.
But, why am i not feeling a thing?
Why was i numb?
Indeed, the war was already over for me during the battle.
And all the tears that was supposed to be shed had been shed.
At this point of time, what that was left to do is to decide on the next step.
Today, finally i opened this topic for discussion with my family.
Surprisingly, the storm did not come as i had expected.
I am truly grateful to my parents for being so understanding.
I was expecting the house to be turned upside down,
but, there wasn't even a gale.
They took the news calmly, so calmly that it felt like they had been expecting it too.
Quickly we went on to discuss about the next move.
At the end of it,
looks like i am going back to school,
Bye bye tekong.
Looks like it isn't my time to get caught by the green monster yet.
No more botak for me, YAY!
The only "ouch" factor was...
i was the biggest loser.
Call me naive, but i actually thought the "winning criminals" would be bounded by the same fate.
But, it seems like i am the only one who ended up in the yellow ribbon project.
Each of the other "criminals" beat me by at least 10points,
what a loser i am.
And, talking about "winning criminals", what a "dream" it had been, and what a dream it continued to be.
Winning?
More like we all lost.
Another point was the 180-degree change in my plans.
Ever since i raised the white flag, my plot on revenge on the A obstacle was to go private.
To avoid the annihilation of 1 precious year of my time, and to stay on track.
Likewise, this was what i relayed to everyone who asked about my sweet revenge.
But, after weighing the pros and cons, the priorities at hand and opinions from various people who had my interest at heart, its seems like putting down my pride is the wisest path to take.
What an abrupt change in plans.
Next step in damage control,
how to face the world.
Well, take one step by the time.
Respond accordingly as it goes.
Currently, i am holding to a "do not ask me about it" stance.
But, this is certainly not a long term solution.
Its only a matter of time before the cover is blown, especially when i start to don the new uniform.
However, i seriously have no idea of how should i respond when being asked about this...
Since its not something proud.
Ok, i am so done with thinking about all these shit.
Its not something very pleasing nor exciting to talk about.
Let me share some fun stuff.
On Fri morning, before i went to school i went to SSDC to apply for my pdl.
Yeah, cos the sickeningly rude instructor insist that he will only proceed on with further plans(ie give me a time slot) when i have the pdl.
Went there, waited for some omfg long time(somewhat like 1hr) before it was my turn.
Then, the actual application only took 5mins and the lady at the counter wasn't very polite either.
I so regret why hadn't i brought my psp along.
Next, after getting that i went over to yck swimming pool.
Felt that i had to calm my nerves down and sort out my thoughts before i face the "big news".
And what could be a better way other than to soak myself in cold water all alone?
The tranquility of the deserted swimming pool on Friday late morning served its magic, i felt so relaxed and at peace as i paddled 20 laps in the water.
I was enjoying myself in "land of tranquil" until some 30 odd meddlesome kids from "a particular sec sec in my neighbourhood" came.
They made such a hell load of noise and littered the swimming pool with their kiddy bodies.
Keep playing around here and there that i had to constantly change lanes to avoid them.
Grrr, irritating kids.
Whats more furious was that they were apparently here for a swimming lesson but their instructor seems to have no control of the whole kiddy crowd.
Anyway, i quickly swam my 20 lap then proceed to medium pool for some sunbathing.
Then came Saturday, a fun filled power-packed but also exhaustive day.
Started out in the morning in mac at 10am.
Met up with Berlina Tan, 2s01(not all) and my "hao peng you"s.
Talk about some nonsense regarding our results and future plans before teacher and class were "dismissed".
I was left to have brunch with my "hao peng you"s.
After food, we went to play the sport i loved most.
Soccer.
The court was occupied, nonetheless, commando managed to get us in for "next team"(if u get what mean).
Played with them, got trashed twice.
Wow, but it was really fun.
I enjoyed myself, had not played for a long time.
After kick-ball, there was some buffer time, then the next activity.
ZOMBIE KILLING.
Left 4 dead was fun.
2nd day on the game.
Played from 5 till 6pm.
Had a hell of a time.
After the zombies in virtual world were dead, i was next on the gunning list.
The odac dinner starts at 6.
Wow.
Flew home, bath, changed, flew down to plaza sing asap.
Waited outside swensens for a good 5mins before i was told that they had change the venue to astons at the Cathay.
After dinner, the original plan was to go for a movie.
But i was lead up this long flight of stairs instead.
In the end, i ended up at Timbre.
Waited for some bloody long time at the car park while feeding the mosquitoes before we got a seat.
Great, it was a pub or bar wdv it is.
So much for waiting, i thought i was going to get a private room to watch a football match or sth, instead, we were squeezed into some tables to do nothing.
The funny thing was, i only realised what we were doing here when the menu came and people starting ordering drinks, alcoholic drinks.
So we were here to chill out, great.
I was so unprepared, not even in the mood for alcohol.
So 1 day after doomsday was party time, someone should have told me about it to get me prepared.
Fortunately, the ambiance at Timbre was fabulous, so was the duo on stage.
So...yup, got into the mood quickly.
Ordered an apple martini after a while and also a chocolate cake.
Flushed red as usual.
Went off at 11+pm as a red lobster, i was sunburn-ed not drunk, lol.
Had fun after all, found that timbre was actually a great place, honestly.
And i finally got to know what timbre was after hearing people mention about it.
The setting was very relaxed and somewhat peaceful.
A nice place to just chill out and forget about troubles(ie the A level results).
Enjoyed myself, thanks to the people/person who organised this.
Next day, Sunday.
Met up with "hao peng you"s, haha.
Back for more L4D action.
Someone stood out on the zombie hunt, fortunately yy was able to find replacement.
Played for some incredible 5+ hours.
Did not know time could fly by so fast.
Other than time, the"surviving the zombie massacre" bill was also quite hefty.
Nonetheless, i once again enjoyed myself tremendously.
I am now so blank as how to continue this,
so lets end here.
Bye.
Scott signs off.
