I was watching Social Network, or facebook which i thought it should be named.
The story revolves around the founder of facebook, Mark Zuckerberg and how he created facebook.
I don't know how much of the story is fact or fiction, but since i don't know anything about fb's history i naturally took it to be what it was.
However, as the story moved along the storyline and the characters seemed to lack any sense of human touch at all.
That was when i decided that maybe parts of it might be surreal and i should take this with a pinch of salt.
Because at the end of the day, this is just another movie and the point of it was to entertain the audience and to portray what the producer wants to.
The story depicts Mark as a uber genius, who is smart, arrogant and doesn't have any "human sense".
Akin to a typical geek who lives in his own world.
He simply speaks his mind and does what he wants without any regard for anyone's feelings.
Not only does he treats his best friend like dirt, he bastard him big time.
And that resulted in a nasty end to their friendship.
At the end of the film, he was left all alone.
That seems to be the point.
That was what the producer wanted the audience to feel.
There is the twist, pun , irony or whatever u call it.
The creator of fb, a massive social network is actually a "social loser" in real life who doesn't have much social skills and doesn't have any close or true friends.
Ironic!
A socially incapable nerd/geek conceptualised and constructed this mega social portal which skyrocketed himself into the limelight,
but behind all the facade,
no matter how famous facebook, his brainchild might be, the truth was,
he still didn't have any real friends in the end.
That was what sparked some thoughts in me.
I have been wanting to go out to town or anywhere today, to shop and to catch Gulliver's travel and The tourist since this morning or even last night.
But my handphone had been so silent since yesterday, no matter how many times i checked my phone, the only person i saw myself(cos the wallpaper was a picture of myself, lol).
Cos i slept early last night i was online since 9+am this morning, i was roaming thru fb and i signed into msn.
For the past 5 hours which i spent having my brunch and watching the movie, all my "contact portals" remained as silent as ever.
And now i feel like Mark, in the movie!
All lonely and shyt without any friends i can call out to.
I really really wanna go out, esp since i bought a shirt from ben sherman ytd and i realise that all my favorite shops are on SALE and the items i loved are still available(not wiped off the shelves yet, cos i was actually able to get sth of my size easily during the sale period).
For today, I wanna so badly hit those Zara stores and get those freaking slick, chic and cool clothes.
Then catch a movie after that superb shopping therapy.
But each time i tried reaching for my phone and try to send a text, i retracted.
Actually i don't even need to physically attempt that, just the thought of it made me withdrew.
I seems that there was no one i felt comfortable enough at this point in time for me to want to bother to satisfy my wants.
Shyt, this sounds darn wrong.
But its just the words la, i don't mean anything. zzz, annoying.
There is like no one suitable for the "job" online too.
Hai.
Ok, now for the disclaimer.
I rly rly rly don't wanna sound desperate, attention seeking, lonely or whatever.
Or let anyone have the misconception, or impression that i was any of the above, or emo, dejected or whatever la.
I AM NOT.
The point of this post was because i was bored, had nothing to do, so crankiness got up to me and i decided to blog how i felt at the moment.
Its something on impulse, and the last thing i want is someone to read too much into this and i start getting weird or paranoid text or responses through whatever platforms of contact available.
I seem to always have to write this disclaimer thing very often.
I must have been talking to much nonsense.
Ok, cya.
I must think of a way to get myself to go shopping.
Scott signs off.
